With over 15 years of experience, a deep understanding of Brisbane’s southern suburbs, and a genuine passion for helping people through life’s major milestones, Sean and Sarah Johansson have launched Johansson & Co. This boutique agency is focused on creating a real estate experience that feels personal, grounded in values, and refreshingly real. In partnership with URBAN X, they are building a business where people come first, and care is never an afterthought.
Sean’s journey into real estate began with a classified ad in the newspaper and encouragement from friends who believed in his natural ability to connect. That moment of curiosity quickly turned into a career shaped by purpose and people.
“At its core, it's the privilege of guiding people through one of the most emotionally significant decisions of their lives.” says Sean. “There’s something incredibly rewarding about meeting a client at a point of uncertainty, earning their trust, crafting a tailored plan, and seeing it through to a successful outcome.”
Sean earned a reputation for being calm, thoughtful, and focused on building trust. But after more than a decade working within large franchise agencies, he began to question whether the traditional model truly served clients in the best way.
“Over time, though, I found myself drawn to a different way of doing things” he says. “Large franchise models often come with a strong focus on brand growth and market share, which is understandable, but I began to feel that there was room for a more people-first approach.”
That realisation became the catalyst for change. Together with his wife Sarah, who brings close to a decade of real estate operations experience, Sean decided to build something new. Johansson & Co was created with the clear intention of doing things differently. It would be a place where relationships come first, where clients are genuinely supported, and where integrity guides every decision.
Like many business owners starting out, the decision to go out on their own came with uncertainty. Sean worried that clients might value a big franchise name over an individual agent. But that fear quickly faded.
Although the vision for Johansson & Co was clear, Sean and Sarah knew they needed the right support behind them. They wanted to stay focused on their clients without getting buried in admin work. That’s when they found URBAN X.
