“I like to help people through all things that life throws at you. I really enjoy holding my buyers and sellers’ hands through what can be a difficult time to making their lives a little better. This job can be so rewarding, that’s for sure.”
Roger’s career began in painting, where he spent 23 years as a residential and commercial painter and ran his own business for 12 of those. In 2020, just as the world was changing, he made the shift to real estate. His practical background and strong communication skills quickly made him a trusted local professional.
His trade background gives him a unique edge when it comes to supporting buyers and sellers. He has the knowledge to navigate any building or pest issues that may arise, whether by offering advice, arranging trades, or even stepping in to resolve matters himself.
What sets Roger apart is his people-first approach. He is down to earth, easy to connect with, and guided by traditional values of respect and integrity. His natural ability to communicate and genuine love of conversation help him build strong relationships with clients, while his sense of humour brings warmth to the process. For Roger, success in real estate is all about treating people well and creating positive experiences.
After starting with First National, Roger spent a year and a half building his skills and reputation before deciding to branch out. That move was motivated by the desire to take control and simplify the process for both himself and his clients.
“Commission splits and getting loans on time” were among the biggest frustrations he faced. With a background in business, the transition felt natural. “I’ve always been in business, and I really like the risk and reward part of things. Also being the bloke where the buck stops here and being responsible.”
While some would be cautious about going out on their own, Roger never let fear get in the way. “No fears as I’m a big believer of working hard fixes all problems.” His strong work ethic and confidence have helped him find his own lane in the industry, even down to his bold branding choices. “Purple and teal colours sure do stand out! My daughters chose them for me and there sure is nothing else out there like that in the real estate world.”

His advice to other agents considering the leap into creating their own business says it all. “Just do it, for sure. Take the leap and don’t look back.”
